Elaine Ethelyn Chapman was born March 22, 1940, in Groom, Texas to Felix Ledwig and Ethel Palmer Ledwig.  She passed away on September 21, 2023, in Friendswood, Texas. She is survived by her son, Burton Chapman and his wife Musica Chapman, and grandchildren Emily Chapman and Andrew Chapman. She is preceded in death by her husband, Victor A. Chapman Jr. who passed away in 2015.

She grew up in Groom, Texas.  She graduated with a degree in Nursing from University of Texas. She served in the US Army as a nurse. She lived most of her life in Houston, Texas.  She worked as a registered nurse and homemaker. She was always fond of cats and spending time with friends and family.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church 11011 Hall Road, Houston, Texas 77089.  There will be a visitation one hour prior to the mass.

Burial will be the next day Friday, September 29, 2023 at Houston National Cemetery at 11:00 am.
