Eddie O'Dell Sparks or more fondly known by most of us as Ed or Pops, passed away with his loving family surrounding him on February 7, 2024 after an 8 week long struggle from triple bypass surgery.

Eddie was born on December 28, 1951 to Roy and Edna Sparks in Chilo, Ohio. He joined the Army in 1970 and took part in the Vietnam War efforts while stationed in Korea. After joining the Army, Eddie went to truck driving school and spent 5 years as a truck driver. In 1976, Eddie moved into his house in Houston, Texas and went on to own his drywall business and later retired from the profession.

Eddie loved traveling with his family, including his grandchildren and visited places such as Germany, Italy, Canada, and many other places around the United States. He loved to spend time with his friends play poker and take trips to Las Vegas. He loved music, writing songs, playing his guitar, and being part of the band. He loved being around people, telling stories, making people laugh, and giving advice.

Eddie is preceded in death by his parents; Edna and Roy, as well as his brother and sisters; Ray, Jenney, Ada, Irene, and Barb, his wives; Sandra and Jo-Ann, and his daughter; Harriett (Nici). He is survived by his wife; Cheryl, his daughter; Courtney and husband Keith; his son; Ed; his step-daughter; Niki and husband Steven; his brother and sister, Bobbie and Roy; and his grandchildren, Serenity, Kylie, Aubrey, Emma, and MacKenzie.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00pm at Peevey Funeral Home. The service honoring his life will be held at 10:00am on Monday, February 12, 2024. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.
