Earle Cummings, better known as Bob to his friends and family, passed away on the morning of May 26 in League City, TX.

Born on April 25, 1954, in East Syracuse, NY, to Helga and Earle Robert Sr., Bob was the eldest of four children, with sisters Glenda and Janice and brother Mark.

After graduating from High School in the summer of 1972, Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served as a medic for 4 years. While on assignment at Sheppard Air Force Base, near Wichita Falls, TX, Bob attended a dance on base where he met the love of his life.

An avid reader and lover of Sci Fi, Fantasy, Western, and History, Bob could almost always be found with a book either in his back pocket or on a table beside him. Bob also had a penchant for classic Television and cinema, often the weirder the better. He also loved old country music.

Frugal to the extreme, his favorite hobby was driving around searching curbs and going to garage sales and thrift stores. He never threw anything away, saying, "You never know when you might need that," and the famous "I can use that."

Above all else, Bob loved his family. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Dora, his two children, son Robert, and daughter Tiffany. Two grandchildren that he adored, Damon and Ray. His sister Janice Sabin and his beloved beagle Mazie.

Bob is preceded in death by both his parents, brother, and sister, Glenda, as well as his previously beloved dogs, Ozzie, Rocky Atticus, and Bella Luna.

Bob will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

The service honoring Bob's life will be held at 11:30am, Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Road, Houston, Texas 77089, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
