Dylan James Summers went to be with his Heavenly Father on May 10, 2023 in Houston, Texas. Dylan was born on October 1, 1993 in Houston, Texas.

He is survived by his loving mother Waverly Summers, father Reagan Summers and step mother Jean, sister Amanda Shoemaker, grandfathers and grandmothers: Julius and Eileen Cart, Dave and Sherry Summers, and Jim and Jerri Wendling; Uncles Lance Wendling, Sean Summers, Breck and Blaine Cart; and step siblings, nephews, nieces and numerous friends.

Dylan was such a loving young man without a judgemental bone in his body, and he could make you laugh even when you were having a hard day. His big hugs made all your problems melt away. He had a huge heart for people that were homeless and would give them his last dollar. When he was a little boy, he always prayed for the people that lived under the bridges.

He also loved animals, especially dogs. He was wanting a black pug when he finished rehab. His old girlfriend and love of his life Erica, said his favorite thing to do was to take their 3 dogs to the park and let them run free. Erica also said that if he saw someone hungry, he would give them his lunch. He loved his friends and was always ready to help them in times of need.

Dylan wanted so badly to overcome his addiction and make his family proud of him. He always told me, "Mama, one day I'm going to buy you a house so you can have all the dogs and little goats you've always dreamed of. Dylan wanted his Dad and I to be proud of him. We told him that we were proud of him. We just wanted him to be healthy and free of addiction.

Dylan had such a tender heart and kind heart and people were drawn to him because of it. The world has suffered a huge loss without Dylan in it, but he will always remain in our hearts. He asked Jesus to come into his heart when he was at a young age and I believe he's finally at peace with Jesus in Heaven, and I can't wait to see him again. I imagine him running through beautiful flowers in the fields of Heaven with Shadow, our family dog, by his side.

Dylan's funeral service will be held at Peevey Funeral Home, Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 10:00am followed by a graveside service at Forest Lawn Cemetery (Almeda Genoa) for family members at noon.
