Dorothy ("Dottie") Louise Webb Redmond was born on July 26, 1939, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Otis and Elizabeth Webb. The oldest of four children, Dottie graduated from College Park High School in 1957 and later attended the University of Louisville. She went peacefully to heaven on January 26, 2026, on her 86 and ½ birthday. She is preceded in death by her parents and by her siblings, Brenda Webb, Wayne Webb, and Phil Webb.

Dottie married the love of her life, Charles Redmond, on August 21, 1964. They were blessed to be happily married for over 61 years. Charles and Dottie became the parents of two sons, Jon and Joel, who were the apples of her eye. They were also blessed with a precious daughter-in-law, Jodi, and with two grandchildren whom she adored, Charli and Joel, Jr. ("Buddy").

Dottie worked for Delta Air Lines for ten years earlier in her life. She then devoted her full time and energy to being a partner in life and ministry with Charles and to being a nurturing mom to Jon and Joel.

At 9 years of age, Dottie gave her heart to Jesus. At 12 years of age, she surrendered her life to full-time Christian ministry. At that time, she thought she would be a missionary in China. Instead, though, she became a missionary of another kind. She became a pastor's wife. She and Charles served the Lord together for all these years in several wonderful churches. They served together at Providence Baptist Church in Rico, Georgia; Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Ft. Worth, Texas; First Baptist Church in Lenoir City, Tennessee; First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs, Texas; and for the past 36 years at the First Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas.

Whether teaching a Sunday School class, leading a women's Bible study, leading a ladies' prayer retreat, visiting a prison, ministering in someone's home or hospital room, at a summer youth camp, on a youth choir tour, on a mission trip, traveling to Israel, Greece, or Rome, or serving God in some other way, Dottie radiated the love of Jesus. Filled with a simple faith, a sweet spirit, a positive outlook, a "can-do" mindset, and a "never-give-up" attitude, Dottie endeared herself to many, many people. An excellent listener, Dottie always took time to make each person feel special. She never tried to be the center of attention. Instead, she built others up and focused on them instead of on herself.

Her legacy is one of loving Jesus and loving people. She showed us that it is possible to be kind, loving, patient, gentle, and joyful regardless of the circumstances. And, as the Bible tells us to be, she was faithful to the end. Some of her last words were these: "I'm not afraid; I am trusting Jesus." As she came to the end of her earthly life, she was doing what she had done all along…trusting Jesus with all her heart.

While our hearts are broken that she is no longer physically with us, we rejoice in knowing that she is healthy, happy, and whole in the presence of Jesus in heaven. We also rejoice in knowing that one day soon we will be back with her…in heaven…never to be separated again. May God help us to live like she lived and to die like she died…trusting Jesus with all our heart and loving people unconditionally.

A special service celebrating Dottie's life and legacy will be held on Monday, February 2, at 1:00pm at the First Baptist Church Pasadena, 7500 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, Texas 77505. A graveside service will immediately follow at Grandview Memorial Park in Pasadena.
