Dorsey Williams, Jr. was born on April 15, 1946, in Monroe, Louisiana as one of seven children born to Dorsey Williams, Sr. and Lucille Williams. He attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he played football, studied accountancy, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  It was also at Southern University where he met Charlotte, his beloved wife of over 57 years.

After marriage, Dorsey was called to serve in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Upon his return from service, he and Charlotte built their lives and family together. They had two children, Ursula and Chris.

Dorsey worked in finance and started his career as an accountant at American Can Company.  After seven years, he became an accountant at Syngenta Corporation, where he retired as the regional financial controller after 29 years.

Dorsey spent his time in retirement being lovingly present for his family every day. He loved being of service at OneMovement Bible Church where he was a member. He cherished traveling with his wife and with his OMBC Golden Age Ministry family and friends. He poured into the lives and educations of his God children Kyleigh Dorsey, Kambrie Smith, Dominique McDaniels, Bobby Wright, and Anthony Wright.

Dorsey was also committed to traveling the area with his dear friend Nathaniel Bolden sharing prayer and the Gospel through hospital and prison ministries. Dorsey was also an avid golfer who played weekly with The Bandits, the local golf club that he loved.

Dorsey is survived by his wife, Charlotte Williams, his daughter Ursula Williams (partner Marcus Lowe), his son Christopher Williams (wife Shasta Williams), his three sisters, Gertrude E. Muldrew, Jo Conley, and Vickie Williams. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and so many others he truly regarded as loved ones and friends.

Dorsey was preceded in death by his parents, his parents-in-love Albert and Earline Wise, and siblings, Ethel Mae Williams, Louchious Williams, and Peggy Collins.
