Doris Marie Macey, 92, of Pasadena, Texas passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2026, following a brief battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family as she peacefully transitioned.

Doris was born in Houston, Texas, and later moved with her family to the Bay Area, where she grew up. She eventually returned to Houston, making the area her home for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Clara Margiolos; her brother, Sonny Margiolos; and her sisters, Annette Kaleel and Irene Abercia.

Doris is survived by her children, Terri Tingler, Jack Macey, Chris Macey and wife Janie Macey; her brother, Kenneth Margiolos; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Doris, or Mom as we lovingly called her, was a devoted stay-at-home mother for many years. She was the heart of our home, making sure everyone was up and ready for school each morning, that lunches were packed, that breakfast was on the table, and that our teeth were brushed before the school bus arrived. She took care of us in all the ways that mattered, always making sure we were safe and sound before she could finally go to bed herself.

Back in the day, Mom loved to sew and tried her hand at making our school clothes. Sometimes we joked that she may have been personally responsible for bringing polyester back into style. She also loved to crochet, leaving each of us beautiful Afghans that we will treasure as reminders of her.

Mom loved to cook and always made sure no one ever went hungry. She also loved having friends around her home, where they played dominoes and cards, gathered around the pool, and walked their dogs together. Her home was a place of friendship, laughter, and memories.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Most of all, we will miss her nightly good-night message, a simple tradition that meant so much and that we will carry with us forever.
