Doris Beck, 98, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025. She was born on July 26, 1927, to Emory and Thelma Bass.

In 1947, Doris married the love of her life, Don Beck. During Don's military service, their journey took them across the country, living in Alaska, Wyoming, and South Carolina before they settled in Pasadena, Texas, where they built their life together.

Doris dedicated many years as a school secretary for the Pasadena Independent School District, where she was affectionately known as "Sergeant Beck." She also faithfully served as a member of Richey Street Baptist Church, where she joyfully taught Vacation Bible School and touched the lives of countless children and families.

A woman of many talents, Doris will be fondly remembered as an excellent cook, with her fried round steak and french fries standing out as a family favorite. She also took pride in her appearance, and it became a well-understood rule in the family — don't touch her hair!

After her retirement, Doris and Don enjoyed traveling in their motor home, where they spent time bird watching and exploring. Some of her greatest joys came from loading up the grandchildren for quality time with Memaw, creating cherished memories that will be treasured for generations.

Doris is survived by her daughters, Karen Wallace and Denise Loe, her brother, Donald Bass, grandchildren, Alisha Thomas (David), Greg Wallace (Chelsea), Stacy Yoder (Alex), Aaron Hudman (Rachel), Monica, and Caleb, and ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don Beck, her parents, Emory and Thelma Bass, and her brother, Edward Bass.

Her life was a testament to love, faith, and family, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but never forgotten.

The family would like to thank Emily Stevenson at Magnolia Hospice for the excellent care given to Doris, and the entire team at Sylvan Shores Nursing Home for their kindness and support.

The service honoring Doris's life will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Road, Houston, Texas 77089, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
