Donny Ray Rau (57) of Conroe, Texas, was born in Big Spring, Texas on September 25, 1964, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 17, 2022. Donny was the oldest of two children born to Donald Ray Rau and Linda Rau. Donny was preceded in death by his mother Linda Rau.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of three years, Tina Perez Rau and her children Jacklyn Perez, Brandon Perez, and Jasmin Fuentes of Conroe; father Donald Ray Rau of La Porte, TX.; sons Christopher Rau and wife Mariana of College Station, TX.; Jonathan Rau of Houston, TX.; brother Kevin Rau and wife Cathy of Pearland, TX.; grandchildren: Hosanna Rau, David Rau and Ester Rau of College Station; in addition to many nieces, nephews and countless other friends and family who were blessed to have known him.

Donny was a proud La Porte High School Alumni and graduated in 1983. After high school, he worked at Sulzer-Hickman, Pittsburg Paint and Glass (PPG) and several other companies. His desire to help others lead him returning to school to obtain his license as a Funeral Director. This career path led Donny to help countless families during their time of need and loss.He loved all genres of music, but blues and jazz were his favorites. Donny enjoyed his motorcycle and was always ready for a road trip to parts unknown. He was a unique, caring, and compassionate man who touched the lives of everyone he met. Donny was a gentle, bighearted man who cared for others and put their needs above his own. Over the years Donny made numerous friends as he was a very social person who never met a stranger.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him as he joined our Heavenly Father.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Mims Baptist Church, 1609 Porter Road, Conroe 77301, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The service will be officiated by Reverend Luke Chaddick and Reverend Christopher Rau. The burial will privately be held at La Porte Cemetery.
