Donna Hanh Doan Pham, age 65, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on September 27, 2024.

Born on December 27, 1958, in Saigon, Vietnam, Donna was the eldest daughter of Bat Quang Doan and Lua Thi Nguyen, with two brothers and four sisters. In 1979, she met her husband, Anthony Thai Pham, in Saigon. Donna bravely escaped Vietnam in 1980, seeking refuge in Japan. The couple married in 1981 and welcomed their first son, Joe, shortly after. Eventually, they settled in Houston, Texas, where they expanded their family with three more children: Peter, Diane, and John.

Donna earned an associate degree in fashion design from Houston Community College. She and Anthony then opened Donna's Fashion Design in the Rice Village, Texas Medical Center, and West University area. For 39 years, Donna touched many lives, contributing to special occasions and providing cherished keepsake repairs. Her customers adored her. Later, she returned to HCC as a professor, inspiring future fashion designers.

In her personal life, Donna was the life of every party, despite her preference for staying out of the spotlight. She had a beautiful voice and loved karaoke, often singing Vietnamese nursery rhymes to her grandchildren. Her passion for singing led her to join her church choir, where she became beloved by the congregation. Donna dedicated years to the Vietnamese Martyrs Church, deepening her Catholic faith and serving as a Eucharistic minister. She found joy in visiting nursing homes to administer communion and read the Bible to comfort the elderly.

Above all, Donna cherished her family. Her greatest joy was simply being with them, creating lasting memories filled with love and warmth. She loved cooking elaborate dinners and often told her children how much she enjoyed watching them eat. Donna also had an insatiable sweet tooth.

Donna is survived by her husband, Anthony Pham, and her children: Joe, Stephanie, Peter, Jenn, Diane, Dustin, and John. She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Sofia, Andres, Hannah, Thai, Zach, and Dani.

Celebrations of Donna's life will be held as follows: Wednesday, October 2nd, from 6:30-9:00pm at Vietnamese Martyrs Church, 110610 Kingspoint Rd, Houston, TX 77075, for evening Mass. Thursday and Friday, October 3rd and 4th, from 3:00-9:00pm at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Rd, Houston, TX 77089, for viewings. Saturday, October 5th, at 8:30am at Vietnamese Martyrs Church for a Mass ceremony, followed by burial at 11:00am at Forest Park Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077.
