Donald Lee Mais, 86, of Houston Texas passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, in Houston Texas.  Born May 3, 1939 in Bryan Texas.  Donald grew up in College Station Texas, where he attended A&M consolidated Highschool.  He graduated from high school in 1957.

Donald joined the army national guard during the Cuban missile crises and was trained in Louisiana to be deployed if needed.  He then attended college at Texas A&M University in College Station Texas.  Donald graduate with B.A. in Business Management.  While attending college, Donald married Betty Davis of Bryan, and had two children named Gordon and Jeff.  After graduating from college, he moved his family to Houston Texas and started a job with Amtrak trains in the marketing department.

While working at Amtrak, he would also setup and coordinate tours and would travel with the tourist to places like San Franisco and surrounding areas.  Later he began a career in sales in the oil industry selling well assembly valves in the Houston Area.  Donald was remarried to Lachlene Drysdale after they meet through friends at Gulf Meadows Church in Houston.  His Christian faith played a major role in his life, and he supported many Christian causes.  Both Donald and Lachlene love to travel. They visited many places across the United States.

Donald was an amateur photographer, and loved taking photos with his Nikon camera.  He passed away from complications with pneumonia on July 27, 2025.  Donald's laughter, and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Donald is survived by his wife Lachlene Mais, sons:  Gordon Mais (Linda), Jeff Mais (Denise); Step daughters:  Susan Nava (Allan), Jennie Tongol (Franzel); Step son:  Judd Luchenbill (Dina); Grandchildren:  Chad Mais (Rachel), Evan Nava, Alex Tongol, Sabrina Tongol; Great grandchildren: William Mais; Cousin: Janet Valigura: Brother in-law: Ross Drysdale; Cousin's wife: Mary Elizabeth Hovarak

Donald is preceded in death by his father: Louis Mais; mother: Lydia Mais; Uncles: Lou Hovarak, Walter Hovarak; Aunt: Milady Hovarak; Cousin:  Delbert Hovarak

The Memorial Service will be on Saturday, August 9, 2025, 5:00pm at the Praise Chapel Church at 18516 State Hwy 3, Webster, TX.

Following the service, there will be a gathering for friends and family to continue sharing memories, the location will be announced at the service.

A graveside service and burial will be announced at a later date.
