Don Ray Lowry, 96, passed away on December 5, 2025. He was born on August 30, 1929 to Cecil and Mae Bell Lowry in Alto Texas. Don had one sibling, his brother; JC Lowry.

Throughout his life Don loved Sports and the Stock market. He loved his Texas Longhorns and Houston Astros. He also enjoyed bowling.

Don met his wife Carol in Fort Smith, Arkansas while in the service. They were married in Arkansas and later moved to Houston, Texas. There they started a family, raising three girls. Don had a long career and retired from Gulf Oil Co. in 1981. Don loved his daughters and was delighted when his daughters had children and ultimately gave him four Grandsons. That gave him half of a baseball team to root for. He and Carol both loved going to the Baseball, Football and Soccer games. He loved being active throughout their lives and always supportive of their adventures. His Grandsons called him "Pop" or "Papaw" and some family members called him "The Popster".

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Carol Lowry, His father Cecil Lowry and his mother Mae Bell. His only brother JC of Alto Texas, his son in law David Malek (Gail) and his first Great Grandson Will Malek.

Don is survived by his daughters Donna Lowry of Houston, Tx. Gail Drager and husband Barry of Houston, Tx. Sharon Brown and husband Larry of Friendswood, Tx, grandchildren Darin Malek and wife Alli of Montgomery, Tx. Jason Brown and wife Toyah of Fort Collins, Colorado, Lonnie Malek and wife Anna of Burleson, Tx. Jake Brown and wife Krissy of Winter Garden, Florida; great grandchildren Kate, Luke, Annie, Landon, Logan, Thora and Lauren.

The service will be held Thursday, December 11, at Peevey Funeral Home, at 10:00am., with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
