Dominic Cantalamessa, age 95, passed away peacefully at home on December 31st.

Dominic was born in Newark, New Jersey, and later moved with his family to Chester, Pennsylvania, where he graduated from Chester High School.  He served his country proudly as a member of the United States Navy.

Dominic met Dorothy in their hometown of Chester and they were married in 1957. Dominic earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from Pennsylvania Military College (now Widener University), after which the family relocated to Newark, New Jersey.

In 1970, Dominic and Dorothy moved with their five children to Sagemont, where they built a home and a life that would remain rooted there for more than five decades.

Dominic was among the original members of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, where he and Dorothy attended daily Mass together. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, serving with Council 9201 and Assembly 2084.

He spent his professional career at Rockwell International, where he worked as an engineer supporting the United States space program. In retirement, he continued working and volunteering through his church, assisting people with disabilities, and helping raise his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Dominic was preceded in death by his parents, Dominick and Rose (Vallarani) Cantalamessa, his sister Camille Borak, and his children, Joseph Michael Cantalamessa and Margaret Mary Musachia.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Cantalamessa; his children, Mary Rose Burk, George and Mona Cantalamessa, Dominic and Margie Cantalamessa; his grandchildren, Bridgid Burk, Matthew and Hilda Burk, Amanda Burk, Kirby and Angela Cantalamessa, Olivia Cantalamessa, Alana Cantalamessa, Elizabeth Cantalamessa, David and Sammy Cantalamessa; his great-grandchildren, Levi Burk, Oliver Burk, Noah Cantalamessa, and Dante Cantalamessa. He is also survived by his faithful dogs, Dove Dog, whom he adopted after Margaret Mary's passing, and Merci.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation, the Rosary, and the Funeral Mass on Friday, January 9, 2026 at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 11:00am., the Rosary at 11:30am., and the Funeral Mass at 12:00pm.
