It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Dolores (Medina) Almendarez. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 23, 2024, in Missouri City, TX. Born on January 2, 1942, to Bennie and Catalina Medina, she lived a life full of love, kindness and generosity.

In addition to her parents, Dolores is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Andrew Almendarez; brothers, Joe Luis and Jessie Medina; sons, Michael and Ernest Almendarez; grandson, Joshua Almendarez and great grandson, Ryan Almendarez.

Survived by her children, Andrew Almendarez Jr., Lisa Cardenas (Russell), Roland Almendarez, Veronica Rangel (John), 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 2 on the way. Brothers and sisters: Bennie Medina (Elizabeth), Josie Gebara (Cruz), Ernest Medina (Jackie), MaryLou Pham-Ky (Bruno), Ricky Medina (Sylvia), Johnnie Medina (Mary Jane), Raymond Medina, and Manuel Medina (Eve) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dolores was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed but will live forever in our hearts.

The family of Dolores will receive friends Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. with a rosary prayed at 7:00 PM. at Peevey Funeral Home;12440 Beamer Rd Houston, TX 77089.  The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church;11011 Hall Rd Houston, TX 77089. A committal service will follow at Forest Park East Funeral Home & Cemetery; 21620 Gulf Fwy Webster, TX 77598.
