Surrounded by her loving family, Dina Lynn Stom, age 60, of Friendswood, TX, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, November 5th due to a pulmonary embolism. We are secure in knowing she is with her Heavenly Father, but our hearts are broken thinking about life without her.

Dina was born on May 20, 1963 in Blytheville, Arkansas to Lyle and Mary Nell Dornan. She graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1981 and had a circle of friends that she met with often.

Being a proud mother of 2 sons, Jacob and Chase, there is nothing she enjoyed more than being with her sons. They were always her priority. They loved teasing, laughing and generally having fun as often as possible. They were a family team that encouraged and supported each other.

She loved the Lord and was always ready to lend a listening ear to anyone who needed her. She always knew what to say and helped you see "the other side" of situations.

Dina was extremely creative and loved quilting. Her quilting buddies have been quilting together for 25 years. She very rarely followed the pattern/instructions for a quilt because she could see a way to make it hers. She was aptly nicknamed "Rebel Quilter." She enjoyed "Sister Quilting Weekends" with Karen and Tammy. She always had a way to help us get out of our mistakes and "add character." We will cherish the quilts she made for the family and the ones we worked on together.

She loved playing games. Dina had a group of friends that got together a couple times a month to play. On "family days," you could always find her playing, laughing and having fun - whether it was cards, board games or a brutal game of spoons. Her beautiful nails could get you! Her nieces and nephews will have many fun memories to last a lifetime.

On Tuesday nights, you could find her at her Mom's watching Dancing with the Stars. They were serious fans, and she even made a spreadsheet each season so they could keep track of scores and who got kicked off and when.

The family deeply appreciates the ER and ICU staff at HCA Clear Lake. Their care for Dina was outstanding. Their quick thinking and constant attention allowed us 48 hours to say goodbye. They were patient and answered our questions and kept us informed. Their kindness will always be remembered.

Dina is survived by her sons Jacob and Chase Stom (Erika Falcon), her loving mother, Mary Nell Dornan, sisters Karen Branham (Mark) and Tammy Baskind (Darryl), nieces Brittany Clickner (Drake) and Daylyn Baskind, nephews Benjamin Branham and Tyler Baskind, and great nephews Caden and Conner Clickner. Dina was preceded in death by her father, Lyle Dornan, her grandparents Tom and Frances Campbell and ML and Sue Rice. She will be greatly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and loving friends that became part of her extended family.

Visitation will be at Sagemont Church Chapel, 11300 S. Sam Houston Pkwy E, Houston, TX 77089, on Thursday, Nov 9th at 6 pm, and a Celebration of Life will be held directly afterwards at 7 pm.
