On January 1st, 2024, Debra "Debbie" Suzette Adams, beloved wife, mom, grandma, sister, friend and devoted servant of the Lord, passed away in the comfort of her home with her husband, Alan Adams, by her side after a lengthy, courageous, hard fight with cancer.

Debbie was born to the late Elmer Willis Freeman and Nona Radford Freeman on April 24th, 1957, in Wichita Falls, TX. Debbie was raised in Henrietta, Texas until she met the love of her life, James Alan Adams, in October of 1971.  The two were married on March 3, 1972 in Wichita Falls, where they bought their first home. In 1978, Debbie and Alan fell in love with the Lord and became followers of Jesus and were members of First Baptist Church, Wichita Falls. In 1979, they welcomed their daughter, Crystal; and four years later they welcomed their son, Brian. In 1983,  Alan's job moved the family to Houston, where they lived and raised their family.  Debbie and Alan joined Sagemont Church in 1983, where they both have served faithfully in many capacities over the past 40 years.  After both kids moved away, they moved to Pearland in 2013. Alan and Debbie loved traveling, going to the A.D. Players and Astros games.  They felt incredibly blessed to celebrate 51 years of marriage this past March.

While raising their kids, Debbie enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom, allowing her to be available to be involved in all the various activities Crystal and Brian participated in growing up. A few she loved were room mom and helping with football banquets and choir activities. She also helped out with the SOK program and VBS at church, and at the Missions Center of Houston for many years. As a couple, Alan and Debbie were directors of the Soul Support Connect Group at Sagemont Church for 34 years.

Whether it was serving at church, at home, or serving her family, one thing remained throughout her whole life…Debbie was a selfless person who put the needs of her family and friends first. She loved the Lord and her family fiercely, and they all brought her great comfort and joy here on earth.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Alan Adams; daughter, Crystal, and son-in-law, Zach Nicholson; son, Brian Adams; grandson, Caleb Nicholson; granddaughters, Hannah and Sophia Nicholson; sisters, Barbara Gifford and Henrietta Towery; brother, Eli Curtis; sister-in-law, Barbara Adams Johnson (Mike); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Debbie's Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, January 10, at 2:00 p.m. in the Sagemont Church Worship Center, 11300 S. Sam Houston Parkway E., Houston, Texas, with Zach Nicholson officiating. The family will welcome friends one hour prior to the service.
