Deanna Sue "Mama, Old Mama" DuVall, formerly of LaPorte, Texas was a supportive wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to everyone she met. She entered into heavenly rest July 2, 2022, at age 80.

Deanna Sue was born in Urbana, Illinois to Raymond and Bernie Bernice Montgomery. She was the oldest of eight children. She had a servant's heart all the days of her life. She helped her mother raise seven brothers and sisters thus allowing her mom to work outside of the home to help provide for their large family. Later in her life, her servant's heart shone bright when she married Larry E DuVall, May 20,1963 and took the role of step-mom to his two boys.

Her servants heart continued to shine years later when she was blessed with two children of her own with Larry and would then spend the next twenty-two years working hard, numerous hours a day, caring for her family's every need. She loved to cook and never missed an opportunity to prepare a great meal for her family every evening when she returned from her full-time job. She loved to clean her home as well. Her favorite part of cleaning was vacuuming the floors. You would have to look hard to find as much as a piece of lint on her well-manicured carpet. Her servant's heart didn't stop there as it again showed itself, many years later, in her love for her dear friend and neighbor Phyllis, whom she cared for in the last years of Phyllis's life. Deanna Sue loved to cook the annually requested Beef and Noodles for her brother Robert. She had many friends and loved them all.

Deanna and Larry were faithful members of Sagemont Church for the last 28 years. Deanna Sue had a great faith in Jesus Christ and looked forward to the day when He was ready to take her to her heavenly home. She prayed daily, the last weeks of her life, for Him to come get her. She loved to watch and was captivated by "The Chosen" series.

In her young adult years Deanna Sue worked as a typesetter and in her middle to late years she would work in accounting.

Deanna Sue was preceded in death by her husband Larry Edward, father Raymond Montgomery, beloved mother Bernie Bernice Montgomery and two siblings.

She is survived by her son Kevin R. DuVall (Susan) of Texas and daughter Loree A. Elliott (Stephen) of Texas, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well as her beloved dog Scooter who was her best friend and companion whom she enjoyed swinging with on the "community swing" where they spent many days together over the last nine years.

The visitation and celebration of Deanna Sue's life will be held at Peevey Funeral Home, Tuesday, July 19th the visitation will begin at 10:00am., the service will follow at 10:30am. The family will proceed with a private burial for both Deanna Sue and Larry Edward DuVall.
