David 'Craig' Shannon passed away peacefully in his sleep at age 64 on Friday, November 4, 2022. Craig was born on January 23, 1958 to David and Carolyn Shannon in Houston, Texas.

Craig graduated from J. Frank Dobie High School in 1976 and loved being a member of the Dobie Marching Band playing the trombone. He also went on to obtain a bachelor's degree in computer science at the University of Houston Clear Lake.

He began work in 1977 at Houston Lighting & Power which later became CenterPoint Energy. Craig worked there for 45 years and recently began planning for retirement. He loved his job and enjoyed his co-workers.

He is preceded in death by his father, David Shannon; his sister, Erin White and her husband Robert White.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 44 years, Susan Elizabeth Shannon; son Christopher David Shannon; son Stephen Louis Shannon, his wife Cynthia and daughter Jozie; mother Carolyn Shannon; father-in-law Louis Novy and mother-in-law Barbara Novy; brother-in-law Greg Novy; brother-in-law Jeff Novy and his wife Lisa Novy; niece Angela Taylor, her husband Todd Taylor, and their children Ryan & Maci; nephew Andrew White; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Craig enjoyed participating in BBQ cook-offs and traveling the world on cruises. He spent his children's youth involved in every aspect of their lives from Boy Scouts to Little League and as a Dobie band parent. He was an avid volunteer for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo for nearly 20 years and had just received the Life Time Committee Member status.

Craig loved his family and spent time with them every chance he got. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

His Celebration of Life will be held at Peevey Funeral Home, Monday, November 14, at 2:00pm.
