David Larry Hammond, a devoted father, friend, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully on November 5th at the age of 69. He was born on March 10, 1956 in Rock Hill, SC to Harold and Reva Hammond. Larry was a kind and humble man who never met a stranger.

Larry was a man of unwavering faith, a testament to which can be found in his service at CT Church, where he served on several boards, as co-leader of the alter workers, and security team leader. He touched countless lives while he was Sozo Director. Larry never stopped growing and learning in his faith and had recently graduated from the Kingdom Leaders Academy.  He could often be found studying or reading.

He was an electrician by trade. He was always the first to offer a hand when someone needed help — whether it was fixing a light, repairing a home after a flood, or mentoring those less experienced.

Larry is survived by his sister Sandra Hazelip; his four children - Michelle Zamora, Amanda Ayub, Lindsay Phillips, and David Hammond; his eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends who will miss him dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm., Wednesday, November 12, at CT Church, 9701 Almeda Genoa Rd. Houston, Texas 77075.
