Darla Kay Nash Ellis, also known as "Dar Dar" passed away on October 27, 2021, at the age of 63. She was born in Cleveland, Texas, October 27, 1958, the middle child of James and Taragabee Nash.

Darla was a free spirit who could make friends with anyone. She loved live music and dancing and was never afraid to sing a lyric or tap her finger to the beat no matter where she was. The beach was a place Darla loved to be, living in Gulf Shores, AL, having property in San Leon, Tx and always visiting Galveston Island every chance she got. Darla always found the best in everyone, and would help someone and give them shelter, advice and courage without batting an eye. Darla knew just how to make everyone she met feel like they could do anything just by believing in them. Being a good friend was important to Darla and it came easy to her. Having a positive outlook on life, Darla was a ray of light in any setting. She could make any gathering brighter with her sweet smile. Smile, and think of her being happy with her toes in the sand.

Darla was preceded in death by her husband, Greg Ellis; mother, Taragabee Nash; and sister Dee Ann Nash Henderson. She is survived by her loving boyfriend Mike. Her father James Nash, sister Jamie Hurt and husband Joe, daughter Holly Young and husband Taylor, daughter Hanna Fredrick and husband Scott. She was "Dar Dar" to her grandchildren, Alexis, Keelie, Harmony, Anthony, Aurora, Andra, Rian and Griffin. Darla is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Darla lived a full life. She was loved by so many and will forever be in our hearts.

The Celebration of Life will be held on November 6, 2021 at 3:00pm at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Rd, Houston, TX 77089.
