Daniel Scott Parrish, 46, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Sunday, May 14, 2023, after suffering complications from a diabetic coma. He was born on September 14, 1976. He was preceded in death by his Nana, Jeanne Wiggins, his aunt, Helen "Kiki" Wiggins, his uncle, Ronnie Anderson, and his father, Benton Earl Parrish.

Daniel is survived and immeasurably missed by his family: mother, Denise Chatham; step-father, Donald Chatham; grandfather, Homer Wiggins; sisters, Kelli Day and Amanda Montcrieff; brother-in-law, Matt Montcrieff; aunts, Elisa Doest and Sharon Anderson; uncle, Leslie Doest; cousins, Jennifer Doest, Stephen Doest, and Jessica Doest; nephews, Jeffrey Day, Micah Chatham, and Ethan Day; and his best buddy, Fritz. Daniel also leaves behind and is greatly missed by several close friends, including his long-time friend, Jon Myers.

Some of the things Daniel enjoyed most included listening to music, watching movies, going to theme parks and museums, riding roller coasters, and shopping on Amazon. He also had a fondness for collecting hats and t-shirts and various types of home décor, especially boxes.

Daniel was passionate about his life. Although faced with a terminal illness, he lived his life to the fullest and found enjoyment in even the smallest of things. He loved his family and valued his friendships. He focused on cementing his relationships with those he cared about, often putting others' feelings or needs before his own.

Daniel had a kind, generous, and compassionate heart. He sought out ways and did what he could to make life better for those he loved, whether by giving a gift, doing or having something done for them, or merely sending a thoughtful message or funny text. He possessed a strong desire to bring happiness to others. Many will remember Daniel for how he made them smile and laugh with his quick wit and sense of humor.

Daniel was unique and special to many people. He was a son, a grandson, a brother, an uncle, a nephew, a cousin, and a friend. For those of us who had the privilege of knowing him, even if only a little, Daniel left a permanent mark inscribed on our hearts and he will be deeply missed.

Daniel's family extends its heartfelt thanks to the healthcare professionals at Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital, especially the ICU nurses, for their compassion, care, and commitment to Daniel and his visiting family and friends during the time he was in their care.

A Celebration of Daniel's Life will be held at Peevey Funeral Home on Saturday, July 1st at 10:00 a.m.
