On the afternoon of October 3, 2022, Daniel ("Dan") Mark Azevedo passed away at the age of 61 in Zarqa, Jordan. Dan was born to Linda Lee Morgan Pobudinski and adopted by Richard Philip Azevedo in 1971.

Dan was always inquisitive and gifted with a mechanical aptitude beyond his years. He fell in love with technology in middle school and regularly walked to his school for the opportunity to visit the punch-card computer lab. He initially worked in the marine seismic industry setting up seismic vessels for ocean survey. He moved on to the communications world working with satellite communication and imagery. Those experiences landed him work with various military contractors in Afghanistan setting up communication links for our troops. He had a passion for remote controlled anything, but especially helicopters. He was a "Mr. Fix It," who satisfied his curiosity by taking mechanical and electrical devices apart to learn how they worked, and then he would almost always reassemble them to working order. He was known to those he loved as selfless, loving, funny, nerdy, hardworking, and painfully shy until he started cracking jokes and sharing stories or knowledge with the people around him. Dan was a committed Christian who helped establish his new church in Pearland Texas in 2005 where he volunteered as a sound engineer. More than anything else, Dan sought to live by Christ's example and his loving devotion to his family, friends and congregation evince his success in that endeavor.

Although Dan never married, he began his lifelong friendship with Gwyn Necessary in 1982, and was always extraordinarily close to Gwyn and her daughters, embracing them as his own second family.

Dan was preceded in death by his father Richard, by his best friend David Necessary and grandson Kael Hartman. He is survived by his mother Linda Pobudinski and her husband Ed; sister Tami Eick and husband Richard and their children Andrew Eick, and Rich Eick with wife Devon, and their children Kinsey and Kiley; sister Dana Chambers and husband David and their children Lauren and Emery; brother Brian Azevedo and wife Teresa and their child Henry; longtime best friend Gwyn Necessary and her daughters Bunny Borrego and husband Ronnie, Kristina Corcovelos and husband Brian, and grandchildren Elizabeth Brown, Alex Briand and wife Morgan, Malachi Hartman, Breccan Corcovelos, and Ezra Corcovelos, as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him and embrace his memory.

The service celebrating his life will be held at Peevey Funeral Home, Wednesday, October 19, at 7:00pm., with visitation one hour prior to the service. A private interment will be held for family members.
