Curtis Dean Turner was born on February 28, 1935 in Grapeland, TX, went home to be with the Lord on February 13, 2022 in Pasadena, TX. Preceded in death by his mother Eunice Allen, father Dewitt Turner, sister Gaynelle Dietz, brothers Billy Joe & Randy Dickey, baby Donald Turner, son Ronald Wayne Turner, granddaughter Ashly Turner, wife of 49 yrs. Linda Joy Turner, and second wife of 14 yrs. Audrey Shippey. He is survived by his brothers Wallace Turner and Buddy Dickey, sister Sissy Rightmire, his sons Dale Turner & wife Terri, Darrell Turner, grandchildren Amber Turner, Andrea Turner, Jessica & Jamie Turner, Sarah Nelson and Jennifer Longstreet, great-grandchildren Hayley Pearson & husband Darrin, Alexis, Victoria, Katelyn, Christian, Hayden, Heath, James, Jaden, Raylynn, Brody, Schuyler, William, Jacob and great-great grandson Danny & soon arrival of baby Grayson.

My father, the Patriarch of our family and to us who loved him, the greatest man ever known! He began by being famous for climbing the Grapeland water tower was among his many accomplishments. As a young man he joined the Navy and was one heck of a boxer I am told. He worked for Hydrill, Electrolux, and after gaining much experience in hardwood flooring became a successful businessman and owner of Turner Hardwood Floors.

He married the love of his life Linda Joy Acrey and had 4 sons, one he lost shortly after birth but always knew he was family. The three remaining sons eventually followed in his footsteps and became flooring specialists. We were what family was all about and were blessed to have two godly parents who cared so much for each member in the family and our lives spent together will be carried to eternity with us. He and mom were Christians and lived it by example.

Dad loved the Lord to the end, even speaking in his heavenly language everyday the entire final week in his hospital stay. The afternoon of the day before he passed the nurses said he was happy and singing Christian songs waving his arms saying he was sailing on a boat. No doubt our Sailor had boarded that good old gospel ship and while the morning of his departure was nigh he began to shout and sing and he bid this old world goodbye. So long Daddy, so long Pappy, we salute you and will thank God everyday for blessing us with you. Go rest high thou good faithful servant, and we will see you soon!

There are no tears in Heaven, nor grief of any kind, I leave this final teardrop, to those I've left behind. though absent from the body, I'm present with the Lord, the joy of my salvation, is now my full reward.

The funeral service will be held at Peevey Funeral Home, Saturday, February 19, at 10:00am., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Davis Cemetery in Grapeland, Texas.
