Cody Wayne McElreath, born in Webster, Texas on May 2, 1991, passed away on April 7, 2026, at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston, Texas at the age of 34. Cody was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend who left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Cody was a proud graduate of Alvin High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University. His passion for helping others and serving his community was evident in both his academic pursuits and personal life. Cody was determined and always had a kind word or helping hand for those in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Amelia Moody Briscoe and Howard Wayne McElreath, both of whom he loved deeply. Their loss was a profound one, but it is clear that Cody's strength and compassion carried on their legacy.

Cody is survived by his sisters, Christine McElreath and Catherine Reynard, along with his cherished nieces Dakota, McKenna, Addison, Ella, and Emma. He took great pride in being an uncle and will forever be remembered for the love he gave to his family. His sense of humor, his infectious smile, and his genuine heart will be missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity that supports mental health, a cause close to Cody's heart.

A celebration of life will be held for Cody at Alvin Missionary Baptist Church, April 18 at 3pm.

Cody's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and though he is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to guide those who loved him. He will be missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace, Cody.
