Charles Truitt Sollock, 80, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025. Born on January 18, 1944, in Houston, Texas, Charles spent his life building a legacy of kindness, faith, and quiet strength that touched everyone around him.

Growing up in Pasadena, Texas, Charles graduated from South Houston High School in 1962 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Houston in 1967. He began his professional journey as a chemical engineer at Phillips 66, but life eventually led him to join his father, D.T. "Jack" Sollock, in the family business at Jack Sollock Chrysler Plymouth in Pasadena. Later, Charles found his true passion, teaching. For 16 years, he dedicated himself to guiding students as a math teacher at Tegeler High School in Pasadena ISD, retiring in 2010. His students and colleagues will remember him for his calm demeanor, infinite patience, and genuine desire to see others succeed.

Faith was the cornerstone of Charles's life. As a charter member of South Main Baptist Church in Pasadena, he was actively involved from its founding in 1954 until his passing. For over 30 years, he taught 6th-grade Sunday School, mentoring countless young lives with his steady wisdom and gentle spirit. Beyond his church, Charles's love for his alma mater, the University of Houston, shone through his unwavering support of Cougar basketball and football games—a passion he often shared with family and friends.

Above all, Charles's greatest joy was his family. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 48 years, Mary Kay Sollock; his children, Taylor Sollock, Russell Sollock and wife Tracey, Elizabeth (Sollock) Wills and husband Ron, and his grandchildren, Keaton, Kylie, Isabelle and Luke Wills, and Peyton Sollock. He is also survived by his in-laws, Ed Satterwhite, Charley and Jane Logan, Bob and Billie Ellis, and Ed and Helen Gray, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, D.T. "Jack" Sollock and Melba Sollock, and his sister, Carolyn Satterwhite.

A celebration of Charles's life will take place at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Road, Houston, Texas 77089, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in his honor.

Charles will be remembered not only for his quiet strength and unshakable faith but also for his sense of humor, integrity, and boundless love for his family. His life was a testament to the values he held dear, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
