Charles Francis LaMantia ("Chuck") age 64 passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at home with his loving family. He was born on September 16, 1957 in Miami, Florida to Jim and Lois LaMantia. He was the younger of two siblings and spent most of his life in the Southbelt area of Houston, TX. Chuck graduated from Dobie High School in 1975 where he met his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Janice Ann King ("Jan"). They were married on May 6, 1977 and were blessed with two beautiful children, Richard James (Ricky) and Chad Michael. Chuck loved his kids with all his heart. He gave them the best life growing up with many summer trips to the hill country where they would camp and float the Frio River.

He spent many days and nights on the little league baseball fields watching Ricky and Chad grow up. An animal lover all of his life, you would often see him outside working in the yard with his dog and best friend, Peanut, by his side. A patient perfectionist, he took pride in his home and the hard work he put into it. He had a love/hate relationship with the different house projects that presented themselves over the years. He had a very eclectic taste in music. Anything from Van Morrison to Gary Stewart. He had some of the best times of his life entertaining family, neighbors and friends at his home

Chuck was as hard of a worker as they come. He worked in the petrochemical industry for 46 years where he started in the field and warehouse working his way up to Inside Sales Representative. He was very loved by his co-workers and made many lifelong friends, some turning into best friends. Chuck loved to cook for his family – his specialties were ribs, fajitas, tenderloins and filet mignon. He loved spending evenings on the back patio by the barbecue grill with his music playing. He loved to take care of his family.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Jan of 45 years and children, Ricky and Chad. He is also survived by his mother, Lois LaMantia, his sister, Michelle and husband Larry Willoughby. He also leaves behind in-laws, Dick and Dody Huber along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, many special friends including his K-9 sidekick, Peanut. He is preceded in death by his loving father, Jim LaMantia.

Chuck was a kind, generous and loving person who enjoyed the simple things in life. He will be deeply missed by us all.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Road, Houston, Texas 77089.
