Charles Norman Hellinger, loving husband, father, grandfather went to be with our Heavenly Father August 24, 2023 after a valiant battle against cancer.

He was born in Gainesville, Texas on September 20, 1941.

Charles was a gentle, kind, and loving man, who never hesitated to offer encouragement and a helping hand when he saw a need.

Charles served his country for eight years in the air force. After being discharged from the Air Force he settled in Pasadena and found employment with Tenneco which was later purchased by OxyChem. After retirement, he discovered a hobby of collecting vinyl records which he enjoyed, being a fan of music.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Pauline Reeves Hellinger and Earl Edward Hellinger, Sr. as well as two brothers, Earl Edward Hellinger, Jr. and Robert Williamson.

Charles is survived by his wife, Evelyn of 54 years, two sons Terry Norman Hellinger and Preston Wayne Hulsey (wife Kathy). Three grandchildren; Lindsay (Iva Murdock), Zachary (wife Taryn), and Carter. Six great-grandchildren: Elijah, Emery, Addison, Kennedy, Leighton, and Hudson. Two sisters: Barbara Anderson (Henry Schiro), Julie Stewart, (Wyatt Windom). Two Brothers: Richard Hellinger (wife Tatyana) and Donald Hellinger. Three sisters-in-law, Linda Duke, Janie Kelley (husband Danny Walker), and Darcus Williamson. Two brothers-in-law, Emmett Hulsey, Sr. and David G. Hulsey.  Numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

A celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Church Pasadena, 7500 Fairmont Parkway, Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior to the service, Dr. Jon Redmond will be officiating. Lunch will be served following the service. A private interment will be held at Houston National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in his memory to Samaritans Purse.
