Cathryn Michelle Blankenhorn, 35, passed away in her sleep the morning of October 3, 2024, and immediately entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Cathryn was born on February 25, 1989, in a suburb of New Orleans, LA. She attended elementary and intermediate school in League City, TX, graduated from high school in 2007 in Bellingham, WA, and then graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX in May 2011 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education with an emphasis on Intermediate School Mathematics. She was passionate about math and excited to share that passion with her future students. After three years of teaching in Houston, TX, she shifted her focus to one-on-one tutoring and for the next nine years was a math tutor with a local tutoring company. She absolutely loved the one-on-one interaction with each student and was always excited to not just teach the student but even more so to see their eyes light up when they "got it". Her favorite saying was "math is everywhere". She left tutoring and spent her last year of life thrifting and reselling clothing and books on the internet, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Cathryn accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at age 11 at a Vacation Bible School and was baptized a month later. She continued to grow in her Christian walk and loved to study the Bible, especially during her last 11 years by attending a Precept Inductive Bible Study with her mom.

Cathryn had a wonderfully funny sense of humor that could be both punny and sarcastic. She had an infectious laugh and a very quick wit that brought much joy to her family and those around her. She loved to read, always buying books and maintaining a "To Be Read" cart in her apartment.

Cathryn was predeceased by her grandparents Edward & Esther Blankenhorn and William & Helen Smith. She is survived by her parents Ronald & Carol Blankenhorn of League City, TX, sisters Caron Blankenhorn of Houston, TX and Cara Van Ness (Joshua) of League City, TX, and her brother Christopher (Taylor) Blankenhorn of Bellingham, WA and their three children, Brynlie, Kamri, and Cayson.

The funeral service will be held at Peevey Funeral Home, Wednesday, October 9, at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
