After a very courageous battle against cancer, Carol Lee (Strange) Phares went home to heaven on February 2, 2022 at 2:22 am. Born in Pasadena, Texas on November 17, 1959, Carol was the daughter of Cecil Floyd Strange Jr and Norma Jean (Welford) Strange. She graduated from J. Frank Dobie High School in the class of 1978.

Carol treasured spending time with her children and grandchildren. Rather it be under the Friday Night lights of the football field, at a convention center for cheerleading, in the gymnasium for basketball or in the cold for soccer, she was going to be in attendance rooting for her loved ones. Carol also enjoyed rooting for her Dallas Cowboys, much to the ire of her family. Carol fancied antique shops, estate sales, garage sales, craft shows and trade shows. She enjoyed spending time going to different local events and "lunching" with her friends. Her favorite color was yellow; her favorite flower was the Texas Yellow Rose.

Carol was extremely proud of her family and grandchildren. She awaited and cherished birthday and holiday celebrations when the whole gang would gather and celebrate. She was dearly loved by all.

Carol was preceded in death by her Mother, Norma Jean Strange; her grandson Matthew Tripp Casto.

Carol is survived by her father, Cecil Floyd Strange, Jr.; her sisters, Cecelia Ganje and husband Michael of Houston and Sabrina Herod and husband Roy, of LaPorte; children Kiya Phares, Michael Phares and wife Candice, Matthew Phares and wife Ashley, grandchildren Trestin, Austin, Madison, Michael, Serenity, Raven, Brilee, Harper and Ryker, as well as many loved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, February 11, 2022 at 2 pm at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Rd, Houston, TX. 77089, 281-464-7220 (peeveyfunerals.com). In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to MD Anderson cancer research.
