On Friday, September 1, 2023, Carl Dean Blackshear passed away at the age of 88.

Dean was a loving partner and father of two children and three step-children. Dean was born in E. Houston July 23, 1935 to William and Jewell Blackshear. He graduated from Galena Park High School and then joined the Coast Guard for active duty. He then spent 20 years working in the petrochemical industry.

Dean retired and enjoyed working in the flowerbeds, cooking, playing bingo and decorating for Christmas for others to enjoy. Most of all Dean loved to help others. He was always eager to help. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him!

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dean's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

The memorial service for Dean will be held at Peevey Funeral Home Tuesday, September 12,  at 4:00pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
