Cam Mai Taylor, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on April 13, 2024, in Houston, Texas. Cam's journey began in Vietnam, where she was raised by her caring parents. She grew up surrounded by rich traditions and heritage that she carried with her throughout her life. After meeting her soulmate, Edgar Bartow Taylor III, overseas in Saigon during the Vietnam War, they embarked on a lifelong journey together. Cam and Ed were married in 1971 and started their family, welcoming their son Daniel Kelsey Taylor in 1972.

Together, Cam and Ed settled in Houston, Texas, where they created a warm and welcoming home for their family. Cam's dedication to her loved ones knew no bounds. She was a devoted wife for 53 years, a loving mother to Daniel, and a cherished grandmother to her granddaughter Kelsey. Cam's love for her family was unparalleled. She was an excellent cook, known for her attention to detail and the delicious meals she prepared. Cam always put others first, going out of her way to help those in need and ensure everyone felt cared for.

In her free time, Cam enjoyed gardening and spending quality time with her loved ones. She took great joy in listening to her son play classical pieces on the piano and shared special moments dancing with her granddaughter to the tunes of the Beatles. Cam's granddaughter held a special place in her heart, and she lovingly shared her Chinese and Vietnamese heritage with her, giving her the Chinese nickname Mei Ling, meaning "my happy joyful bell."

Cam was a woman of many talents and experiences. She spoke four different languages and lived in two different countries throughout her life, embracing diversity and learning from every new adventure. Her warm smile and kind heart touched the lives of all who knew her.

Preceded in death by her mother and father, Cam is survived by her husband Edgar B. Taylor III, her son Daniel Kelsey Taylor, daughter-in-law Lauren Taylor, granddaughter Kelsey, her sisters and brother, nieces and nephew.

Cam's presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the memories of those who loved her. May she rest in peace, knowing she made a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
