It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved BriAnna Nichole Gunderson.  BriAnna passed away on Saturday, July 8th, 2023, at 7:02 AM in her home. Born on July 26, 1995, at 5:19 PM in Bamberg, Germany, BriAnna brought joy, laughter and sometimes frustration into the lives of all who knew her. We find comfort in knowing that she is now in the embrace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

BriAnna is survived by her Mother Brandy Padalecki-Pavlicek and Stepdad John Pavlicek. Father Paul Gunderson.  Mark Padalecki, her stepfather, held a significant place in her heart until his passing.  She will be dearly missed by her siblings: Emily Padalecki, Jasilyn Pavlicek, brother-in-law Robbie Nylund, sister Kristina Nylund, brothers Joshua and Caleb Pavlicek.  She is also remembered by her sisters, Alessandra and Mia Gunderson. Nephews, Dean and Brandon Nylund.

BriAnna's grandparents, Ronnie and Connie "Grandma Sugar" Crawford, played a special role in her life, providing love and guidance. BriAnna leaves behind a large and loving extended family, including her Uncle Jake and Aunt Rhonda Norton, Uncle Ronnie Brown, Uncle Ryan and Aunt April Brown, and Uncle Raymond Bridges. She will be missed by her first cousins, Kelli, Madison, Bubba, Tanner, and Olivia Norton, Mackenzie, Montana, and Mercy Brown. BriAnna had great aunts and uncles who held a special place in her heart, Uncle Andy and Aunt Tracy Taylor, Uncle Mark and Aunt Nancy Powledge, and Uncle Troy and Aunt Jane Powledge. Aunt Robin Rich and she is preceded in death by her Uncle Ray Rich. BriAnna's passing is mourned by numerous other aunts, uncles, extended family members and friends who were touched by her presence in their lives.

BriAnna leaves behind a legacy of compassion, and selflessness. BriAnna had a remarkable gift for connecting with people, genuinely listening to their challenges, and offering her support. She possessed both street smarts and a tender heart that allowed her to understand the struggles of others. She often shared stories and conversations, her eyes welling up with tears as she empathized deeply with those in need. Her passion for helping others was unwavering, and she believed that no one should go without the necessities of warmth, clothing, and food. BriAnna would give the shirt off her back to ensure the well-being of those around her.

BriAnna LOVED food!  She was so grateful for every meal and never left the table without saying thank you and complimenting the chef.  She enjoyed cooking and eating.  There were frequent jokes like "Mini Martha" and the occasional "BAM", as she was cooking.  The night before her passing she cooked a big spaghetti dinner and salad for her family.  Of course, she kept saying, "make sure to save Emily a piece of bread."

BriAnna's love for animals was unparalleled, earning her the nickname "Dr. Doolittle" from her Mom. She found joy in their presence.  Her sweet baby cat, Mac, held a special place in her heart, and their bond was undeniable. BriAnna found solace and therapy in working with animals, appreciating their non-judgmental presence and the calming effect they had on her. As a matter of fact, she went to great lengths to sneak Mac into the house because she couldn't bear to leave her outside. We won't mention the source that facilitated this little adventure—Aunt Rhonda may have had a hand in it!

BriAnna spent most days and nights with her sisters Emily and Jasilyn.  They were not just sisters but her best friends.  They shared countless, precious memories together. Every night was a movie night for them.  Of course, it always involved food and an argument over the movie selection.  The bond they shared is immeasurable.

BriAnna's love for her family knew no bounds. She cherished her Grandma Sugar's recipes and cooking, especially chicken and dumplings and each FaceTime conversation with her Aunt Tracy and conversations about the Lord with her Uncle Mark.

As we bid farewell to our precious BriAnna, let us celebrate her strength, cherish the memories we shared, and continue to honor her spirit by extending compassion to those still fighting their own battles. May she rest in eternal peace, forever free from the chains that once bound her.

The visitation will be held at Peevey Funeral Home, Sunday, July 16, from 4pm until 6pm. The service celebrating her life will also be held at Peevey Funeral Home Monday, July 17, at 10am. Interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
