Billie Jean Rezek McRae, born August 20, 1940 in Dallas, Texas to William James Rezek and Marie Anna Kadlecek Rezek, ascended to Heaven on September 6, 2023.  She is survived by her son Charles William (wife Lisa) and daughter Sydney Ann Vincent (husband Kip), her grandchildren Amber McRae, Kayse Vincent (wife Miranda), Jake Vincent and Lauren Stelly (husband Dustin), her great-grandchildren Kip M., Alli, Avery, Carson, Kade, Wyatt, her sister Annette Scranton and her nephews Michael Scranton (wife Beth) and Robert Allbritton (wife Traci).

After graduating from the former John H. Reagan High School in 1957, she began working for Anderson Clayton & Co. She and Charles Edward McRae were married in 1962.  She then worked in the insurance industry for over 40 years earning the nickname "Insurance Goddess" from her co-workers and clients.

Billie enjoyed driving her MKZ the "silver bullet", going to the casino, playing card and board games with her family and fishing.  Gifted in the kitchen, she always had a big pot of something delicious on the stove, an extra chair at the table for whoever showed up, and rarely was a seat left empty.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 47 years Charles Edward McRae and sister Margaret Ann Allbritton.

The family would like to say "Thank You" to Diana Barlow Elliott for the many hours spent lovingly taking care of Billie.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Tuesday, September 12, 2023, and the service celebrating Billie's life will be at 10:00am Wednesday, September 13, 2023, both held at Peevey Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Kayse Vincent, Jake Vincent, Dustin Stelly, Robert Allbritton, Michael Scranton, and Ricky McNeil.
