Betty Ruth Carter Jones, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother passed away peacefully on August 3rd, 2024, at the age of 90. She was born on November 19th, 1933, and lived a life dedicated to faith, family, and community.

Betty is preceded in death by her father and mother William and Mary Carter, her sister Sadonia Jones and her husband Fred Jones.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Robert Michael Jones, and her children: MaryKay Gunter, Kerry Jones and wife Pam, Matthew Jones and wife Billie, Robin Mingarelli and husband John, Christopher Jones and wife Heather, and Thomas Jones and wife Stephanie. She was cherished by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

Grandchildren: Melissa Niles and husband Shane, Stephanie Robinson and husband Cody, Matthew Jones and wife Skye, Stephen Jones and fiancé Amanda, Kate Hahn and husband Andrew, Taylore Jones, Dustin Brown and wife Madison, Allie Jones, Andrew Jones and wife Anahi, Lauren Moore, Lauren Kirkpatrick and husband Colin, Tyler Brown, Cameron Jones, Danielle Mingarelli, and Bella Moore. Great-grandchildren: Hunter Burk, Kaydee Grace Burk, Kynlee Burk, Delaysa Niles, Avery Robinson, August Hawk Robinson, Emma Jones, Bobby Jones, Elizabeth Jones, Ian Jones, Carly Jones, Tanner Jones, Stella Brown, Samantha Hahn, Emily Hahn, Mason Hahn, Hannah Hahn, Penelope Hahn, and Kline Kirkpatrick. Great-great-grandchild Kohen Burk.

Betty graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor's degree in Education. Her passion for education was matched by her enthusiasm for cheerleading, a hobby she continued from high school through college.

A devout Christian, Betty and her husband Bob were Founding and Dedicated members of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, where she generously gave her time and resources throughout her life. Her deep faith in God was evident in all aspects of her life and she imparted this faith to her six children, leaving a lasting spiritual legacy.

At 90 years old, Betty faced her final days with grace and a profound readiness to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Betty Ruth Carter Jones will be remembered fondly by all who knew her for her unwavering faith, boundless love for her family, and her steadfast commitment to serving others. Her legacy of kindness, faith, and love will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends for generations to come.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pmTuesday, August 6, 2024, at Peevey Funeral Home, where a rosary will be prayed at 6:30pm. The Funeral Mass for Betty will be celebrated at 11:00am Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, where she found solace and joy throughout her life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Betty's name be made to the church. A reception will be hosted immediately following the mass.
