Arthur Albert Costley, III, better known to those who loved him as "Booty", passed away peacefully August 9, 2023 in Houston, Texas at the age of 74.  Booty was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in Criminology.  He spent his 30 + year career working as a Switchman for the Union Pacific Railroad.  In 1973, he married the love of his life, Barbara, and together they raised two children, Brian and Kelly, in the Pasadena area.  Brian's wife, Kelly Cook, and Kelly's husband, Myron, completed their family circle.  Booty expanded his legacy when he became the proud grandfather to four wonderful grandchildren who knew him as Pa.

Booty's love for hunting and fishing was a cornerstone of his life, and he found solace and joy in his mastery of these hobbies.  Sitting for hours in a duck blind or having coffee at the local McDonald's with friends were a few of Booty's favorite pastimes.

Booty is preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Art Costley, and sister, Mar'Sue Wilson.  He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara, his children, Brian and Kelly, and their spouses, Kelly and Myron, and grandchildren Donovan, Karley, Briley and Ethan.

Friends and family are invited to come together to remember and honor the life of Arthur Albert "Booty" Costley, III, at First Baptist Church of Pasadena, Saturday, August 26, 2023. The visitation will begin at 3:30 pm, the memorial service will follow at 4:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Booty's name to Sarah's House of Pasadena or the charity of your choice.
