Archie Bernard Peterson 82, of Nassau Bay, Texas passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023.  Archie was born on January 28, 1941 in El Campo, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Marilyn Jane High; parents Archie and Prebble Peterson; and brother Johnny Peterson.

His memory will be cherished by his daughters Rhonda Wright and husband Russell, Ramona Townsend and husband Tommy; grandchildren Garrison Wright and wife Joanne, Alyssa Wright, Tyler and Brooke Townsend; and great grandchildren Stetson and Brynleigh Wright.

Archie was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather (Pawpee) and great grandfather.  He was the caretaker of the family.  If you needed something, all it would take was a phone call and he would help with whatever you needed.  He took care of his wife as she suffered with Parkinson's Disease, visited family members and friends who were home bound and in nursing homes, took grandkids to school and other activities, just to list a few.

Archie attended Pasadena High School and played in the football state championship in 1958 before graduating in 1959.  The team was also inducted into the Pasadena ISD Hall of Fame.  He then played football at Del Mar Jr. College and played in the Jr. Rose Bowl in 1959.  After Del Mar he went on to play football for Rice University and graduated in 1964.  Football was more than just a game for Archie, it was also where he developed many life-long friendships.

Archie was a successful construction equipment salesman for most of his career which led him to volunteer at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.  He started as a member of the Equipment Acquisition Committee in 1994 and served as a Vice Chairman in the late 90's and early 2000's.  He also served as a member of the International Committee for several year.  Archie enjoyed and continued as a member for 27 years, achieving the status of Lifetime Committeeman in 2016.

Archie will be greatly missed and will live in our hearts forever.

The funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church-Pasadena , Friday June 16, 2023 at 4:00pm, with visitation one hour prior to the service. A private burial will take place at a later date.
