Anthony Leo Campise, Sr., 82, was born and raised in Houston, TX. In 1986, he built his own home in Pearland and moved with his wife and two children. He passed peacefully to be with our Lord and our Blessed Mother in that home on a beautiful Tuesday morning, exactly how he wanted it, surrounded by family in the arms of Christ.

Anthony loved his God and was very devoted to his Blessed Mother and instilled that sense of faith in his children. He was a very devout Catholic and taught his children how to pray and the importance of our faith. He also absolutely loved his family, especially his wife of 48 years, his children, and grandchildren. He also instilled the importance of family in his children and because of him, we are a close-knit Italian family. We spent so many great times together whether it was a birthday party, holiday, or we just got together to cook and conversate just because. He also loved to go gambling with his wife, several friends, and family. He loved traveling to beach destinations with his wife and occasionally his children. His favorites were Hawaii and the Bahamas. He also loved sports and passed that love onto his son, especially football and his Houston Texans. Where he and his son have been season ticket holders since 2010. Even when seasons were bad, he loved tailgating with our group of guys. He also loved Elvis Presley and would always sing and play Elvis music no matter where we were at. He loved keeping up with old time Italian tradition and made sure he had his pasta and suga on Sundays. He also loved everything sweet, especially ice cream with chocolate syrup.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Antoinette Campise and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Anthony is survived by his wife Mary Jo Campise. Son, Anthony Campise II and wife Meagan Campise. Daughter, Mary Campise Johnson and husband Tom Johnson, his grandchildren Angelina Johnson, Juliana Johnson, Giavana Johnson, Anthony Campise III, and Ava Campise. Brother, Charles Campise and wife Theresa Campise.

He definitely left a great legacy behind of faith, family, friends, sports, and tradition. We were all better people for having had him in our lives. He will truly be missed and was loved and respected by so many, but he made sure toward the end that we knew he was in God's hands and that is the perfect place to be. Until we meet again.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am Thursday, April 4, 2024, at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior to Mass. A reception will be hosted immediately after the Mass in the social hall. Rite of Committal will then follow at 2:00pm at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
