Andrea Louise Brooks passed away in the arms of the Lord on January 6, 2022. Only 44 years old, Andrea died in Houston, Texas, close to her two daughters. She is survived by daughters Madison Brooks and Savannah LaMar, her parents Jerry and Kay Kovachik, Sister Jennifer Kovachik-Lopez, niece Cecilia Kovachik-Lopez and chosen partner Louis Schumann.

Andrea searched life in pursuit of service to her fellow man and to animals. She loved animals. In this she was happy. She was a member of St. Bernadette Church in Clear Lake. She worked for a while as a CNA (Clinical Nursing Assistant) in Pasadena, but she found her calling in pet grooming where she could care for animals and instruct owners in their care.

Visitation will be held the evening of Wednesday, January 19, from 6pm until 8pm at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Rd., Houston. Due to the current Covid outbreak in the area, the family requests that masks and distancing and no personal contact be observed at visitation.

There will be a mass of remembrance at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 11011 Hall Rd. Thursday, January 20, at 11:00 a.m. with a light luncheon to follow in the parish hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her surviving children or to a charity of your choice in Andrea's name.
