Amanda Faye Wofford, 74, of Rosharon, Texas, was born on July 4, 1948 in Pineville, Louisiana to George W. and Bessie Pearl Beaver. She was the youngest of 12 siblings. After her parents passed away when she was 2 years old, she was raised by her Aunt May and Uncle Carlos Beaver. Amanda was surrounded by her loved ones when she entered the gates of Heaven on January 17, 2023.

Amanda is preceded in death by the love of her life, James Earl "Jake" Wofford, her parents, her Aunt and Uncle, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

Amanda or Mandy as many knew her, deeply loved God and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior as a young teenager. She found joy volunteering at her church and with other ministries.

Amanda lived a life of humility and service to others. She was like the wedding coordinator who never had the job. At a party she would be attending, she would be the one in the kitchen washing dishes or refilling the drinks for others.

More than anything, she loved her family and friends. She took pleasure in always being available for anything they needed. She absolutely loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother. She retired from her job at Armstrong Repair to devote her time to taking care of her grandchildren. She would take them skating, bowling, to the movies and numerous other places. She was always finding fun things for them to do.

Amanda was a bright light to everyone she knew. She would listen to your problems, accept you as you were, and love you unconditionally. She would encourage others with daily texts of words of encouragement.

Even though she suffered with many health issues, she stayed independent and always put others first. Amanda will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but we rejoice in knowing that we will see her again.

Amanda is survived by her son, Gregory Ferrington and wife Jeannie of Pearland, her grandchildren, Samuel and Meredith Ferrington of Pearland, Emily Wright and husband Mathew and great grandchildren, Willow, Tristan, and Wyatt. Her sisters, Irene Telano of Pasadena, Carol Jester of Pineville, Louisiana, her brother Richard Beaver and wife Vicki of Chula Vista, California, sister-in-law, Linda Haavie of Sugarland, Special Cousin who was like a brother Roy Stokes and wife Wanda of Iowa Colony and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for a donation to Crosspoint Church Celebrate Recovery or any other charity of your choice.

A memorial service will be held at Peevey Funeral Home, Saturday, February 4, at 2pm., with visitation one hour prior to the service.
