Alexander Gordon Manning (Alex), 23, passed away unexpectedly, suddenly, and much too soon in his hometown of Friendswood, Texas on February 27, 2022.

Alex was born on October 13, 1998, to Brad and Jayne Manning. Alex spent his youth playing any sport with a ball and enjoyed overall outdoor activities from riding his dirt bike, hunting, fishing, and being on the water with his friends. He graduated from Friendswood High School in 2017.

Alex realized he had a calling to serve his country when he was a young boy. Upon graduating, he joined the United States Marine Corps, following the path of his grandfather. He departed to boot camp in October of 2017 earning his Eagle, Globe and Anchor and the title of United States Marine 13 weeks later. Alex was attached to the 1st Marine Division, Contact Engineer Battalion stationed at Camp Pendleton in California.

Upon leaving the Corps in 2021, he took a job with Contech Control Services on a journey to become a licensed Electrician.

Alex was a protective young man to those around him – always thinking of others before himself. He especially enjoyed making others laugh with his quick wit and fun personality. He was selfless, caring, and loyal to those he held close. He was a patriotic young man that loved family and his country.

Alex lived with love and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his parents, Brad and Jayne Manning of Friendswood; sister, Sydney (Manning) Sepulveda, brother-in-law, Bradley Sepulveda, and niece, Kennedy Sepulveda, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and wonderful friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Friday, March 4, 2022, at Peevey Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.
