With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Albert Charles "Charlie" Timme, Jr., who departed this world on August 18, 2024, at the age of 93. Born on January 24, 1931, in Houston, Texas, Charlie led a life filled with love, devotion, and unwavering commitment to his family and his beloved wife of 71 years, Bernice Timme.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Albert C. Timme and Ruth Ellen Ewald. He grew up in Houston's Park Place neighborhood and attended Charles H. Milby High School, graduating in 1949. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Houston in 1960. Charlie also served honorably as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army at Fort Bliss.

His professional career began at Hughes Tool Company, where he worked from 1956 to 1990, rising to Supervisor of Quality Control. His innovative thinking even led to the creation of processes that resulted in a patent. Beyond his career, Charlie was a dedicated community leader, serving as President of the San Jacinto Country Club, President of the First Evangelical Church Council, and an active member of several camping clubs. He was also involved with the Clear Lake Gem and Mineral Society, where he nurtured his passion for stonework.

Charlie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. On June 26, 1953, he married Bernice Rogers, and together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He is survived by his son, Albert C. Timme III; his daughter, Deborah Joiner, and husband, Steve; his son, Stephen Timme, and wife, Margaret; and his son, Jeffrey Timme, and wife, Marcie. He was also a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Charlie had a deep love for woodworking and lapidary, crafting intricate pieces of stone and glass into beautiful jewelry. He was an avid collector of lanterns, flashlights, stamps, and coins and found great joy in gardening.

He was a man of many talents and boundless generosity. There was never a need to call a repairman—Charlie could fix anything. He instilled this same sense of capability and confidence in his children, teaching them that with determination, they could accomplish anything. He was not just a father but a role model and an exceptional dad.

Charlie had a warm and giving spirit. His friends fondly remember his thoughtful visits, always accompanied by a warm greeting and a piece of candy pulled from his pocket.

Charlie's passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his kindness, wisdom, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A memorial service to celebrate Charlie's life will be held on March 8, 2025, at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Rd, Houston, TX. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by the service at 2:00 PM.
